10 July 2016 6:18am – Make Compost Not War

LOVE this! One of my favourite things is making better soil, and composting is one of the easiest ways of doing that.

Not only does composting improve your soil naturally, it encourages soil critters to move in and turn the soil for you, which means less digging (can’t complain about that!). It also retains all those valuable nutrients, putting them back into the soil where they can be used by other plants, animals and fungi, which creates a much more resilient ecosystem andminimises the amount of organic and food waste going into our landfills, where all those nutrients get ‘locked up’ (landfills are fully sealed and double-lined to stop anything escaping) and produce methane, a greenhouse gas.

So save all those food scraps and newspapers, and have a go! :D
