Do any of you have these ‘weeds’ in your yard? I quite like plucking a bit of purslane, chickweed or swine cress (not listed in the article) along with lettuce as I walk around my yard, and I actively encourage the growth and spread of nettles, nasturtiums, cobbler’s pegs and amaranth as compost additives and free chook food. Many weeds can be useful and nutritious, and by definition they grow themselves, without any care or attention from me, so they’re a real time-saver as well as money-saver and flavour/nutrient boost to salads and stirfries. What’s not to like? :)
