18 March 2016 6:24am – Perennial Vegies

Although written with the North American climate zones in mind, much of this is still applicable to Australia, and a very good summary of why perennials are such an important part of any permaculture garden, or even just any garden where you want to grow some of your own food but don’t have a lot of time or resources to ‘baby’ annual vegies. They even have a handy list at the end, all of which are available over here, depending on where you live. Don’t forget citrus and other tropical/subtropical fruit trees – they don’t seem to have made it onto the North American list, but they are great easy-care additions to any subtropical garden :)
